Sea Otter Pup Saved in Alaska

Last week, the Alaska SeaLife Center welcomed its first stranded and rescued Northern sea otter pup patient for the 2012 season, and he sure is cute.  (^_^)

Meshik, named after the location where he was found, is approximately three weeks old and weighs almost seven pounds. Husbandry Director Brett Long reports that the sea otter “is doing well, eating a healthy mixture of formula and fluids.”

The ASLC staff thanks the residents of Port Heiden, Alaska for their considerate effort caring for Meshik.
