Here’s a feel-good story for you. A giant seven foot-long, 655-pound male leatherback sea turtle had become stranded ashore near the tip of Cape Cod, in Massachusetts. Luckily, he was rescued and brought to the New England Aquarium in Boston, where he was rehabilitated and released.
The amazing part of this story, is that this is only the third time a leatherback turtle has been successfully rehabilitated and released back into the wild, and the first time, one was released with a small and painless tracking device mounted on his shell. According to the device, the turtle has still survived, swimming further south to warmer waters.
Happy Humpday (^_^)
