Today is World Penguin Day, and to celebrate, we’re traveling to Detroit, Michigan, to the Polk Penguin Conservation Center at the Detroit Zoo.
The 33,000-square-foot penguin center is the largest facility for penguins in the world! It features a 326,000-gallon, 25-foot-deep aquatic area where visitors can watch more than 80 penguins of four species explore their habitat. An underwater gallery and two acrylic underwater tunnels provide views as the birds swim above, around and below. The exhibit just opened on April 18th too, just in time for World Penguin Day!
So sit back and relax, as we enjoy this tour of the Polk Penguin Conservation Center, narrated by Detroit Zoo CEO, Ron Kagan.
